The object
In 1894 Aubrey Beardsley drew four plates for a Chicago edition of Poe's tales, in the clean black line that made him notorious. We have taken three, the masque, the house of Usher and the Rue Morgue, and inverted them, so the ink becomes a white line drawn on the dark.
